Elvis Presley went to elementary school at Lawhon Elementary School in Tupelo, MS.

In the second grade, Elvis won second prize at the Mississippi Alabama Fair talent contest where he sang "Old Shep." A teacher had recognized Elvis's talent and organized for him to enter the talent show.

elvis’s twin brother’s grave

Elvis Presley had a twin brother who was stillborn. Jesse Garon Presley was buried in a shoebox in an unmarked grave at the Priceville Cemetery.

Elvis dodged another bullet on the evening of April 5, 1936, when he survived the fourth deadliest tornado in US history that took 233 lives in Tupelo.

bonnie and clyde death car

At the end of the 1967 film Bonnie and Clyde, the outlaw couple were shot up in their stolen car.

The actual vehicle from the 1934 ambush is now on display at the Primm Valley Resort and Casino, one hour south of Las Vegas.

The car is a 1934 Ford Model 730 Deluxe Sedan. The engine is a large eigthy-five HP V8 with a manual 3 speed transmission. It was stolen by Clyde Barrow on April 29, 1934. The couple were shot to death in the car on May 23, 1934.

The car from the film Bonnie and Clyde is on display at the Crime and Punishment Museum in Washington, DC.

sunnyvale trailer park in season two

In season two of Trailer Park Boys, the trailer park used for Sunnyvale was a small park near the Tufts Cove Generating Station in Dartmouth with the power station's three red and white striped smokestacks popping up in the background of several shots.

This park is tiny. Don't be fooled by the overhead shots reused from season one when it was filmed in Lower Sackville. Not sure if it's a coincidence or if there is any significance to the street names in the area: Trinity Ave to the NW and Lahey Rd to the NE.

Painted on the side of the 1029 Bar at this address is a mural done by the Broken Crow design collective.

The mural depicts a duo of squirrels paddling in a Pabst Blue Ribbon can canoe. Either this is a celebration of the wildlife and leisure activities of the area (drinking and canoeing- typically best not mixed), or it is an environmentally conscious commentary. Either way, it's pretty cool.
