To record their third album Rubber Factory, The Black Keys leased space on the second floor of a former General Tire factory in their hometown of Akron. They named the studio Sentient Sound.
The photo on the cover of their single for "Lonely Boy" off their 2011 album El Camino shows a bulldozer in an empty lot where the factory used to be before it was torn down in 2010.

Ti West and crew stayed at the Yankee Pedlar Inn in Torrington in 2009 while working on The House of the Devil. Rumors that the hotel was haunted gave him the idea for his next movie The Innkeepers which they filmed there the following year.
