Today, the Cerrillos Turquoise Mining Museum contains many mining and Old West artifacts, as well as information on Young Guns. Many scenes from the film were shot in and around Cerrillos, including the peyote-eating scene.

The photo on the cover of Big L's 1995 debut Lifestylez ov da Poor & Dangerous was taken on the corner of Lenox Avenue and West 139th Street in Harlem.
On the album Big L calls 139 and Lenox the "Danger Zone," which I guess it is. In 1999 he was shot and killed during a drive-by not even a block away when he was only 24.
