Finished in 1909, this temple for Seattle's liberal Reform congregation was on the National Register of Historic Places until it was demolished in 1993. Part of the façade remains.
Jimi Hendrix played his first gig in this synagogue's basement. After some wild playing, he was fired between sets.

Jimi Hendrix went to elementary school here. A shy and sensitive kid, he used to drag a broom handle around and pretend it was a guitar. The school psychologist tried unsuccessfully to raise funds to buy Jimi a real guitar fearing that without it might result in "psychological damage."

23 brook street

On the exterior of 23 Brook St is an blue English heritage plaque indicating that Jimi Hendrix lived at the location from 1968-1969. The plaque was dedicated on Sept. 15, 1997 by Pete Townshend.
The flat was mainly lived in by Hendrix's girlfriend at the time, Kathy Etchingham, and her friend, Angie Bourdon.
Next door at 25 Brook Street is the Handel House Museum, where German-born baroque composer George Frideric Handel made his home in London in 1712 and eventually became a British citizen in 1727.
