Dylan used to perform in the theater and the lobby here.
In his book Chronicles, Volume I, Dylan recounts an encounter with professional wrestler Gorgeous George as he played piano in the lobby:
"He winked and seemed to mouth the phrase, 'You're making it come alive.' I never forgot it. It was all the recognition and encouragement I would need for years."
Moral: Be nice to kids.

This is where Bob Dylan went to high school. He formed a couple of bands while there, The Shadow Blasters and the Golden Chords.
Apparently, when Dylan's high school band covered "Rock and Roll Is Here to Stay" at their high school talent show was so loud that the principal cut the microphone off.

Located in the basement of the Hibbing Public Library is the Bob Dylan collection. The hours are not set, and when I visited there I had to ask a couple of people until I got to see the room.
Not a museum, the collection is the project of a local fan. It has some pictures, documents, some interesting info and a pretty cool guitar. I guess they have added more interesting material since I was last there: paper mache statue, anyone?
