John Winston Lennon was born at this location at 6:30 a.m. on October 9, 1940.
Formerly the Liverpool Maternity Hospital, Lennon was born during the Nazi Luftwaffe bombing campaigns of the city.
Today, there is a plaque that commemorates his birth.
From Lennon's Book, In His Own Write: "I was bored on the 9th of Octover 1940 when, I believe, the Nasties were still booming us led by Madolf Heatlump (who only had one). Anyway they didn't get me."

John Lennon spent the first 5 years of his life here from 1940-1945. The home is a short distance from Penny Lane in Liverpool.
This was the family home of his mother, Julia Stanley. Lennon moved in with his aunt and uncle to 251 Menlove Ave (or Mendips).

This location was the boyhood home of John Lennon. He lived here with his Aunt Mimi and her husband from the age of five until he was twenty-two.
The house is now in the National Trust, after it was purchased and donated by Yoko Ono. It was refurnished to fit the 50's era style and was reopened to the public on March 27th, 2003.
It is also the cover of the Oasis single "Live Forever."
