The church also served as the location for the wedding of Indiana Jones and Marion Ravenwood in the ultra-cutesy and forgettable ending of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
No aliens were present at the ceremony. Or were they?...

When Bob Wiley (Bill Murray) arrives on bus to the fictional town of Lake Winnipesaukee to find Dr. Leo Marvin (Richard Dreyfuss), he is acutally arriving in the freshly painted and film-dressed old downtown of Moneta, VA. The general store was really in operation, but the bus depot was Moneta Produce before it was shot in the film.

In the film, when Dr. Leo Marvin (Richard Dreyfuss) has had it with Bob Wiley (Bill Murray) he calls in a favor with a colleague and tries to have him committed at a mental institution. Unfortunately for Dr. Marvin, the doctors and staff think Bob is a great guy and have to release him.
The Elks National Home is a retirement community in Bedford, and it was the filming location for the institution in the film.

Set in the fictional town of Lake Winnipesaukee (there is a Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire, but no town named after it), the majority of the 1991 comedy What About Bob? was shot in and around the town of Moneta, VA. The film was shot in VA since because the foliage had already turned colors when the film was ready to shoot (from August 27- November 21 1990). The actual lake is Smith Mountain Lake in Virigia, a 40-mile man-made lake created by damming the Roanoake River.
In the film, Bob Wiley (Bill Murray) is a multiphobic personality who unhealthily latches on to his cocky psychiatrist (Richard Dreyfuss), follows him to his summer home (this location), and ingratiates himself with his doctor's family. This home was used extensively for interiors and exteriors of the film.
