On November 22, 1963, Lee Harvey Oswald was employed as a temporary worker at the Texas School Book Depository when he shot JFK from the sixth floor. The 24-year-old Oswald was a former U.S. Marine with a "sharpshooter" rating. Oswald was killed by Jack Ruby before he could stand trial.
Today, the building houses the Sixth Floor Museum with several artifacts and displays from the Kennedy assassination.
